About our Pre-School

Established in 1960, Hampstead Garden Suburb Pre-School has become a familiar and popular member of the community. Welcoming children from between the ages of 2 and 5 years, we meet every weekday during term time. We offer both morning and afternoon sessions and the opportunity for children to spend the whole day with us. Children staying all day will be asked to bring a packed lunch and will have the opportunity to rest before the afternoon session gets underway. We also offer afternoon sessions to children during their school Reception Year.

The pre-school is a registered charity and a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and Barnet Early Years Plan. We are also registered with Social Services (Reg No DC0027) and Ofsted (DFEE Reg No EY338293) and are inspected on a regular basis to ensure that we provide high levels of childcare and pre-school learning. The last Ofsted Report is available upon request at the pre-school, the outcome of the inspection said

"the quality of the provision is Outstanding... Children are deeply absorbed in learning. They are extremely happy, confident and self- assured as their physical and emotional well-being is promoted incredibly well."

Sam leads a friendly team of qualified staff, deputised by Maria Bukovenczki who is the pre-school's registered Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and Equal Opportunities Manager.

All qualified staff hold a PLA Diploma Certificate or equivalent and current First Aid Certificates. Staff regularly attend training courses and workshops to continue their professional development. We have a high staff to child ratio with a minimum of four members of staff on duty at all times.
